Your Stay at The Willows

Bring your slippers and relax after you have explored the beautiful Yorkshire Dales. From the moment you arrive you will feel like a family member. Johanne and Steve are keen to ensure that you feel at home.

Previous guests have preferred our B&B, as it is at the quieter end of the village. They have enjoyed our jovial, warm and friendly hospitality. All devoured our BIG tasty breakfast, after sleeping peacefully in our comfortable beds. Some guests enjoyed their stay with us so much, that they have kindly provided us with great reviews on Trip Advisor.

If you choose not to stay with us, we would recommend you check out other establishments on tripadvisor, as we would like you to go away from The Yorkshire Dales with the best possible memories of your stay in this beautiful National Park.

PLEASE for Your Safety and Enjoyment: Make sure you prepare and pack for the unexpected, as thechangeable weather in the Yorkshire Dales can be unpredictable, even on the sunniest days. A list of recommended equipment etc can be found in any good walking book or the internet. Please use a check-list and tick off as you pack. Horton village is very small and it only has one shop and the Pen-y-ghent cafe. These do not carry a great deal of walking gear if you forget anything. (e.g. Bring an extra OS map, in case you get separated from your group)

The Horton-in-Ribblesdale village pubs provide great dinners for all creatures great and small. For famous TV, film locations and historic sites, see our Attractions page. Breakfast at the Willows is what you expect from a quality bed and breakfast that caters for walkers, climbers, travellers and others with healthy appetites.

We also do a tasty, substantial and healthy packed lunch. (£6 p/p)

Bag Forwarding Service and other Facilities:
For those of you on long walks or cycle rides such as the Pennine Way, or Land's End to John O'Groats, we can deliver your bags on to the next local destination if required. (£6 per bag - min 2 bags)

We also offer a small item laundry service if required. (small fee)

There is a secure lock-up where motorbikes, bicycles and other equipment can be safely stored.

A sports / holistic therapist can visit in-house for treatments and to aid your recovery. Soothing pamper massages are also available for ladies who just want to relax and enjoy a touch of luxury at The Willows.

We welcome well behaved children and teenagers, but it is the parents’ responsibility to supervise their children at The Willows at all times. There is an excellent large playing field and swing park just across the road, with swings and a zip slide, that have been tested and enjoyed by previous children who stayed at The Willows.

Why Rush It?

If you are traveling along the Pennine Way, please try to avoid arriving in HOT-SPOTS like Horton-in-Ribblesdale during weekends. You may find it difficult to book accommodation, as the Yorkshire 3 Peaks people and those climbing Castleberg Crag, will usually have pre-booked weekends well in advance.

With only around 40 rooms to choose from, most are booked up a year in advance, especially at weekends.

Yorkshire Three Peaks Cyclo Cross

For those of you who are visiting us to take part in the Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge / 3 Peaks Race / 3 Peaks Cyclo Cross and drive here, we would recommend that you sleep at The Willows the night before your challenge, that way you will be able to start early, without having to race to Horton from your home.

Please don’t underestimate the 3 peaks walk. It is a marathon 25 mile hike, mainly uphill and down. It will test your strength, stamina and will power. For most it will be the hardest thing you have ever done. We advise you to train for several months and carry a mobile phone on the Orange or Vodaphone networks.

You will be severely fatigued after your walk. We recommend you have a non-walking designated driver, or stay over to recover after your marathon up The Three Peaks. After a long hot shower and a comfortable rested full nights sleep. You can awake refreshed and alert to one of our Big Breakfasts, as you will have used up around 3000-4000 calories!!
