The majority of guests stay at The Willows for the great outdoors. Yorkshire Three Peaks, Pennine Way, Castlebergh Crag, etc.

If tackling the Yorkshire Three Peaks is not your thing, you may find other more relaxing things to do in The Yorkshire Dales National Park.

Retired visitors, pensioners, the Saga generation, will no doubt find many interesting things to see or do in and around the Yorkshire Dales. From seasonal markets and events to museums and other historical places, wildlife centres, steam railways, vintage bus and boat trips.

The Willows is just around the corner from Horton railway station on the Settle to Carlisle Railway Line. Why not hop on one of the romantic steam trains that stop at our station, or try Wensleydale Railway Line.

Just up the road to the North of Horton-in-Ribblesdale you will find Hawes in Upper Wensleydale, famous for its Wensleydale Cheese. Who knows, you may even bump into Wallace and Gromit. Also worth a visit are The Wensleydale Creamery in Gayle Lane, the Hawes Rope Factory and Gayle Mill, as seen on the BBC Restoration series in 2006. Tickets are available from The Dales Countryside Museum.

About two miles North of Hawes you will find Hardraw waterfalls as featured in the swimming scene in Robin Hood Prince of Thieves.

Just South of The Willows near Settle you can visit the facinating Yorkshire Dales Falconry and Wildlife Conservation Centre

A short drive to the West of Settle along the A65 you can visit Ingleborough Cave, Gaping Gill pothole, Ingleton Waterfalls and caves.

A little East along the A65 you can visit the lovely town of Skipton and its magnificently preserved medieval Skipton Castle
